Choi Hyun-wook

On March 23, 2020, Gold Medalist confirmed that Choi had been cast in the web drama Pop Out Boy!, an adaptation of a popular webtoon of the same name. The series, which follows the story of a female protagonist who encounters a fictional character brought to life, began filming the following month and officially aired on June 25. Choi’s performance in the drama helped him gain recognition as an emerging talent in the industry.

In April 2021, Choi made a notable appearance in the SBS drama Taxi Driver, where he played Park Seung-tae, a school bully. His role as the antagonist in episodes 3 and 4 showcased his ability to portray complex characters, leaving a strong impression on audiences. Around the same time, he was cast in another SBS drama, Racket Boys, a sports-themed series that revolved around a badminton team. His participation in these projects further solidified his presence in the Korean entertainment industry. Later that year, he had a brief but impactful role in the tvN drama Jirisan, playing Lim Cheol-kyeong in a flashback sequence alongside the lead character, Seo Yi-kang.

In 2022, Choi experienced a significant rise in popularity when he starred in the hit coming-of-age television series Twenty-Five Twenty-One. The drama, which featured Kim Tae-ri, Nam Joo-hyuk, Kim Ji-yeon, and Lee Joo-myung, received widespread acclaim for its nostalgic storyline and heartfelt performances. Choi’s role in the series earned him praise and increased his fanbase. That same year, he took on another major role in the television series Weak Hero Class 1, where he starred alongside Hong Kyung and Park Ji-hoon.
