Upcoming K-Drama Haunted Palace Reveals Cast at Script Reading Session

SBS has officially unveiled script reading stills for its upcoming Friday-Saturday drama, The Haunted Palace, raising excitement for its April premiere. With a unique blend of fantasy, history, and supernatural elements, the drama promises to take viewers on a thrilling journey filled with mystical forces, palace secrets, and unexpected alliances.
The drama follows Yeo Ri, a young shaman who refuses to accept her destiny as a spirit medium, and Yoon Gap, a royal officer who unexpectedly becomes possessed by an imugi—a mythical serpent-like creature linked to Yeo Ri’s fate. As their paths intertwine, they must confront their supernatural ties while navigating the dangers of palace politics and ancient prophecies.
The script reading session brought together the drama’s creative team and an impressive cast, led by director Yoon Sung Shik and writer Yoon Soo Jung. Actors present at the event included.
Yook Sung Jae takes on the role of Yoon Gap, a devoted palace official whose life is turned upside down when he becomes possessed by Kang Cheol, an imugi, leading him into a battle between his human will and supernatural forces.
Opposite him, Bona portrays Yeo Ri, a strong-willed shaman who defies her fate and fights to carve her own destiny, refusing to be controlled by the spirits that seek to claim her.

Kim Ji Hoon stars as Lee Seong, a reformist king with a vision to strengthen Joseon, but his rule is challenged by deeply buried royal secrets. His once-loyal subject, Yoon Gap, returning as a rebellious imugi, creates both tension and unexpected humor in their evolving relationship. Kil Hae Yeon plays Neop Deok, a wise and enigmatic figure who possesses ancient knowledge of the supernatural.
Meanwhile, Kim In Kwon and Son Byung Ho take on the roles of Kim Eung Soon and Kim Bong In, influential political figures entangled in the power struggles within the palace.

The drama also features Shin Seul Ki as Choi In Seon, Lee Won Jong as Monk Ga Seop, and Cho Han Gyeol as Bibi, who each contribute to the show’s mystical atmosphere and historical depth, making The Haunted Palace a compelling blend of fantasy, history, and palace drama.
The Haunted Palace is set to premiere this April. However, details about its availability on global streaming platforms have not been announced yet.
