Veteran actress Hwang Jung Min has been officially confirmed as part of the cast for the upcoming K-drama The Potato Lab. The news was announced on February 28, heightening anticipation for the series ahead of its premiere. Known for her compelling performances, Hwang Jung Min’s addition to the cast is expected to enhance the drama’s appeal.

The Potato Lab marks Hwang Jung Min’s first K-drama project of 2025. In the previous year, she appeared in several dramas, including Good Partner, Romance in the House, Dog Knows Everything, and The Fiery Priest Season 2.

Since making her acting debut in 1997, Hwang Jung Min has built an impressive career with roles in popular K-dramas such as Moving, My Dearest, D.P. Season 2, The Forbidden Marriage, One Dollar Lawyer, Unicorn, When the Camellia Blooms, and Uncontrollably Fond.

Actress Hwang Jung Min is set to appear alongside Kang Tae Oh, Lee Sun Bin, Lee Hak Joo, Shin Hyun Seung, and Seo Ji Hoon in the upcoming tvN K-drama The Potato Lab.

Set in a peaceful mountain valley, the drama will explore an unexpected romance that unfolds at a potato research center. The series reunites director Kang Il Soo and writer Kim Ho Soo, who previously collaborated on the 2019 historical drama Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung.

Lee Sun Bin will take on the role of Kim Mi Gyeong, a seasoned potato researcher with 12 years of experience at the Potato Research Institute. Kang Tae Oh will play So Baek Ho, the newly appointed director of the institute. Meanwhile, Hwang Jung Min will portray the leader of the institute’s working group, adding depth to the drama’s dynamic ensemble.

The Potato Lab is set to premiere tomorrow at 9:20 PM KST on tvN. The series will run for a total of 12 episodes, promising an engaging mix of romance, drama, and heartwarming moments.
