Channel A’s The Witch Reveals Jinyoung’s Character Poster” The Witch, Channel A’s highly anticipated mystery romance drama, is based on the webtoon Moving by Kang Full. The story centers on Mi Jung (Roh Jeong Eui), a woman known as the “witch” after a strange pattern of deaths follows the men who fall in love with her. Forced to leave her village because of this deadly curse, Mi Jung’s life takes a turn when she crosses paths with Dong Jin (GOT7’s Jinyoung), a man determined to uncover the truth behind the deaths. The newly revealed character poster of Jinyoung adds more intrigue to this captivating tale.
Jinyoung plays Dong Jin, a skilled data miner who once had feelings for Mi Jung in high school. After Mi Jung was labeled a “witch” and forced to leave, Dong Jin couldn’t confess his love. Now, he uses his expertise in big data to uncover the truth behind the mysterious curse that haunts her.
Jinyoung explained why he chose The Witch, saying, “The concept of wanting to protect someone you love from a distance felt unique, and I was also intrigued by how director Kim Tae Kyun would bring the story to life.” His excitement about the fresh approach and director’s vision influenced his decision to join the drama.
Jinyoung described his character, Dong Jin, as a genius who intensely focuses on one thing at a time. He explained, “When investigating the curse tied to Mi Jung, I wanted to show that he’s so absorbed, he doesn’t notice anything else.” Dong Jin is a solitary figure with few hobbies or friends, and for Jinyoung, finding the right tone was key. “It was important to create a voice I believed for someone so consumed by his own world,” he said.
Jinyoung expressed special thanks to Roh Jeong Eui, who plays Mi Jung, saying, “She gave me stability and made it easier to express my emotions.
